Energy From Waste (EfW) »

Society generates considerable quantities of waste. The company supports the efforts to reduce, recycle and recover waste where this makes economic sense, but despite everybody’s best efforts there will always be a residual. The worst option is to put this to landfill where it will degrade and generate methane gases and potentially pollute the water course.  The residual waste constitutes a valuable source of energy, most of which is derived from biodegradable materials and so constitutes a form of renewable energy.

Small scale CHP from Waste forms an essential part of the drive to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.

Modern highly efficient clean technologies are available to operate at relatively small scale so combined heat and power with high levels of heat recovery as well as efficient power generation are available and operating at very high environmental standards.

SHREWS Ltd is promoting the use of residual and hazardous wastes as a fuel in such plants as the most environmentally sound and cost- effective way of using residual and no recyclable waste and reducing the use of primary fossil fuels as well as reducing the amount to landfill.

SHREWS Ltd has developed considerable expertise in identifying opportunities for the development of small-scale projects, designing projects and implementing projects.  We can provide the expertise to facilitate the development of your project.
